📐 STEP 2: Print Validation

It is fundamental that the printed elements are of the size we expect, and we need you to check it.

See your validation options below, and check the next tutorial pages to learn identifying right or wrong prints.

_

Option 1: A credit-card

Use a standard credit card to check if the Validation field coincides exactly in size. After using the card for this, remove it from the view of the camera!

_

Option 2: A ruler

If you prefer to use a ruler, compare its markings to the printed ruler to check if they (all!) coincide. Make sure to use centimeter or inches consistently.

❌ Identifying print issues

_

The print sheet is over-scaled: When placing the card, you see the dotted line and also part of the template card. If the ruler is used, only one or two ticks match those of the printed reference ruler perfectly.

_

The print sheet is under-scaled: When placing the card, you cannot see completely the dotted lines. If the ruler is used, only one or two ticks match those of the printed reference ruler perfectly.

✅ Identifying a successful print

_

The credit card fits the template exactly. The dotted line around it can be seen tighlty around the card's border.

If the ruler is used, more than 4 ruler major ticks match those of the printed reference ruler.

_

💬 Remember: Use the card only for size validation. It should never be in the picture.
